Digital Advertising Finding Big Growth in Mobile
The IAB (internet advertising bureau) has released a survey conducted by Price Waterhouse Coopers that indicates massive growth in the mobile advertising sector.
These results are regarded as the most accurate and reliable measurement of advertising dollar spend online, as the data comes directly from companies that are selling advertising.
Mobile advertising increased 95% to $1.2 billion in the first half of 2012. The entire year of 2011 equated to $1.6 billion.
The figures indicate we are definitely in a growth phase for mobile expenditure. It also suggests that companies believe that it is profitable to hurl advertising dollars at mobile devices – i.e. there is a lot of money to be made in this sector.
